US: Google has launched a new feature called ‘Scheduled Actions’ in its AI chatbot Gemini, enhancing its capabilities to act as a personal digital assistant with calendar integration.
This update allows users to set recurring or timed tasks for Gemini to execute automatically, eliminating the need for repeated commands.
Initially teased at the recent Google I/O event, Scheduled Actions is currently available to select Android and iOS users, primarily those subscribed to Google’s AI Pro or AI Ultra plans, as well as eligible Google Workspace business and education accounts. Google plans to expand access to all users in the near future.
With Scheduled Actions, Gemini can proactively manage daily tasks such as sending inbox highlights at 8 AM, reminding users of appointments, or notifying them of upcoming events like sports matches.
This feature integrates deeply with Google’s ecosystem, including Gmail, Calendar, and Docs, providing a centralized and streamlined experience.

Scheduled Actions brings Gemini closer to functionalities similar to ChatGPT’s Scheduled Tasks, which sends reminders via app notifications and email. However, Gemini’s seamless integration within Google’s suite of tools offers a more unified user experience.
Previously, Gemini assisted users through on-demand prompts, but now it can deliver reminders and complete tasks proactively without additional input.
By automating routine actions, Google aims to make daily digital interactions simpler and more efficient, further solidifying Gemini’s role as an intelligent, hands-free assistant.
The feature reflects ongoing advancements in AI-driven productivity tools, responding to user demand for more intuitive and anticipatory technology assistance.
