England: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced that England will host the finals of the ICC World Test Championship for the next three cycles-2027, 2029, and 2031. The decision was confirmed during the ICC Annual Conference held in Singapore.
In a media statement, the ICC said that, “The Board also confirmed the awarding of hosting rights for the ICC World Test Championship Finals for the 2027, 2029 and 2031 editions to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), following a successful track record in hosting recent finals.”
Since the inception of the World Test Championship, England has remained the exclusive venue for its finals, including the editions held at Southampton and The Oval.
A significant update during the conference included the ICC’s ongoing efforts to support displaced women cricketers of Afghan descent. This program is being driven through a collaborative partnership involving the ICC, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), and Cricket Australia (CA), under the supervision of ICC Deputy Chair Imran Khwaja.

The ICC noted that, “The program aims to deliver structured support through high-performance initiatives, domestic playing opportunities, and engagement at key ICC global events, including the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England.”
The conference also addressed governance concerns surrounding USA Cricket. The ICC reaffirmed that the organisation remains on notice and must implement urgent reforms.
Further, the ICC announced the election of new Associate Member representatives to the Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC), including Gurumurthy Palani (France Cricket), Anuraag Bhatnagar (Cricket Hong Kong, China), and Gurdeep Klair (Cricket Canada).
The global cricketing family also welcomed two new members, with the Timor-Leste Cricket Federation and the Zambia Cricket Union being granted Associate Member status. This brings the total ICC membership to 110 countries.
