Dubai: India continued their dominant run in the Asia Cup 2025, defeating Bangladesh by 41 runs in a Super 4 clash at the Dubai International Stadium to seal a place in the final.

Put into bat, India posted a competitive 168/6, led by opener Abhishek Sharma’s blistering 75 off 37 balls. The bowlers then delivered a disciplined performance to dismiss Bangladesh for 127, ensuring India’s unbeaten march in the tournament. The win also eliminated Sri Lanka, leaving Thursday’s Pakistan-Bangladesh clash as a virtual semifinal.

India’s road to the final has been emphatic, with victories against the UAE, Pakistan, and Oman in the league stage, followed by wins over Pakistan and Bangladesh in the Super 4s. India’s innings was set up by a flying start from Abhishek and Shubman Gill, who put on 77 runs for the opening wicket.

Though India lost quick wickets in the middle, including captain Suryakumar Yadav (5) and Tilak Varma (5), Hardik Pandya steadied the innings with a crucial 38 off 29 balls. His late hits helped India cross 165, despite losing momentum in the final overs.

Bangladesh’s chase of 169 began poorly as Jasprit Bumrah struck early to dismiss opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim for just one. Parvez Hossain Emon (21) and Saif Hassan tried to steady the innings with a 42-run stand, but Kuldeep Yadav’s breakthrough sparked a collapse.

Axar Patel sent back Towhid Hridoy (7), and Varun Chakravarthy cleaned up Shamim Hossain as India’s spinners tightened their grip. Run-outs and rash strokes piled the pressure, with Bangladesh slipping from 65/3 to 99/7.

Saif Hassan fought a lone battle with a resilient 69 off 51 balls but found little support at the other end. Kuldeep (3/24) and Bumrah (2/23) ensured there was no late resistance, bowling Bangladesh out for 127 in the 19th over.
