New Delhi/Abu Dhabi: The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, launched the ‘Indian Mango Mania 2025’ in Abu Dhabi, highlighting India’s finest mango varieties for global audiences.
The mango promotion program, organized in partnership with the Embassy of India in the UAE and retail giant LuLu Group, aims to boost the international presence of Indian agricultural products, particularly mangoes, and to strengthen export opportunities for Indian farmers.

‘Indian Mango Mania 2025’
Timed with the peak mango season, the campaign was inaugurated at LuLu Hypermarket, Khalidiyah Mall, Abu Dhabi, by the Ambassador of India to the UAE, Shri Sunjay Sudhir, alongside LuLu Group Chairman, Shri Yusuff Ali M.A.
The launch event drew the participation of key dignitaries, including Shri Rohit Mishra, Counsellor (Trade & Investment) at the Indian Embassy, and Dr. C.B. Singh, Deputy General Manager of APEDA.
The festival showcases an impressive array of premium Indian mango varieties, including several Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged and regional specialties such as Banarasi Langda, Dasheri, Chausa, Sunderja, Amrapali, Malda, Bharat Bhog, Prabha Shankar, Lakshman Bhog, Mahmood Bahar, Vrindavani, Fasli, and Mallika.

Strengthening India–UAE Agricultural Ties
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Sudhir praised the longstanding role of LuLu Group in promoting Indian agricultural exports and highlighted APEDA’s efforts in connecting Indian mango growers to consumers in the Gulf region.
“Through this festival, the freshness and richness of Indian mangoes, especially from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and the Eastern region, will reach households across the Gulf,” he said.
Echoing these sentiments, LuLu Group Chairman Shri Yusuff Ali M.A. reaffirmed the group’s commitment to showcasing the best of Indian produce through its retail chains. “LuLu is proud to serve as a bridge between India and the Gulf, bringing the best of India to global consumers,” he said.

A Feast of Mango Flavors
The promotion offered more than just fresh fruit. Visitors were treated to an extensive selection of mango-inspired culinary delights, blending traditional Indian flavors with global fusion cuisine. Highlights included:
- Bakery and Desserts: Mango pastries, Swiss rolls, doughnuts, macaroons, mango bread, and cakes
- Traditional Indian Dishes: Mambazha payasam, mango pulao, mango fish curry, mango chutney, and mango kichadi
- Snacks and Salads: Mango fritters, chaat, raita, and tropical salads
- Global Fusion: Mango sushi, mango-stuffed chicken, and mango chapli kebab
- Pickles and Preserves: Mango-dates pickle, garlic mango pickle, and Kashmiri-style mango pickles
- Beverages: Fresh mango juices, smoothies, mango pulp, jams, and jellies

UAE: Top Destination for Indian Mango Exports
The UAE continues to be the leading destination for Indian mango exports. In 2024 alone, India shipped over 12,000 metric tones of mangoes worth USD 20 million to the UAE, reflecting strong demand for Indian produce in international markets.
APEDA reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing India’s agricultural exports by improving market access for Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs), and agri-exporters, to position India as a global leader in high-quality, diverse agri-food products.
