New Delhi: Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum arrived in India on Tuesday, marking the beginning of his first official visit to the country.
The two-day trip, comes at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will conclude on April 9.
Upon arrival in the Indian capital, Sheikh Hamdan was received at the airport by Suresh Gopi, India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism. The warm reception reflects the strong and growing ties between the United Arab Emirates and India.

The official visit will include high-level meetings with key Indian officials, aimed at deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, defense, and investment.
Sheikh Hamdan is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a working lunch on April 8.
In addition, he will hold talks with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. These meetings are expected to enhance ongoing strategic dialogues between the two nations.
On the second day of his visit, Sheikh Hamdan will travel to Mumbai, India’s financial hub. There, he will participate in a business roundtable alongside leading entrepreneurs and industry figures from both countries.

The session aims to foster business-to-business connections and explore joint opportunities in sectors such as energy, fintech, logistics, and innovation.
Sheikh Hamdan’s visit is the latest in a series of high-level engagements between the UAE and India, showcasing the momentum in diplomatic and economic ties.
Earlier in 2024, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a grand welcome during his visit to Gujarat as the chief guest of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.
The UAE is home to nearly 4 million Indian nationals- its largest expatriate community. Dubai, in particular, serves as a vital link in the cultural, economic, and people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
