New Delhi: United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is set to begin an official visit to India today at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This will mark Sheikh Mohamed’s third official visit since becoming president and his fifth visit to India over the past decade.
The visit follows a series of high-level exchanges between the two countries, including trips by Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in September 2024 and Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in April 2025.
India and the UAE are major trading and investment partners, with ties strengthened through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, a local currency settlement system, and a bilateral investment treaty.

The partnership also includes long-term energy supply arrangements, making the UAE a key strategic partner for India.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for both leaders to further deepen the India-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership and exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including economic cooperation, energy security, and regional stability.
Officials said the visit reflects the strong and growing ties between India and the UAE, highlighting the importance of sustained high-level engagement for advancing shared economic and strategic objectives.
