Diplomatic efforts are underway involving the United States and Iran, with a possible second round of talks expected soon to ease regional tensions. Earlier negotiations held in Pakistan on April 11 and 12 ended without a breakthrough, underscoring the complexity of the situation.
In this context, India’s engagement with key regional players like Saudi Arabia highlights New Delhi’s intent to remain actively involved in discussions affecting regional stability and security.
The Riyadh visit is part of a broader series of diplomatic engagements led by Doval. Just days earlier, he held extensive talks with Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, signaling India’s continued outreach amid the ongoing conflict in Eastern Europe.
India’s recent diplomatic moves indicate a calibrated effort to maintain dialogue with multiple global stakeholders at a time of shifting geopolitical alignments.
Doval’s meetings in Riyadh reflect this approach, combining strategic engagement with a focus on long-term cooperation.
