Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, has announced a strategic partnership with SandboxAQ, an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technology startup spun off from Alphabet Inc. The collaboration, unveiled during the World Economic Forum in Davos, aims to transform carbon emissions into valuable, marketable products using AI.
Jack Hidary, CEO of SandboxAQ, explained that the initiative focuses on “up-valuing and converting low-value fuels and CO2 emissions into more marketable products,” increasing Aramco’s revenue while addressing environmental concerns. Although the terms of the deal remain undisclosed, it represents a significant step forward in utilizing AI to enhance sustainability.
