Describing the initiative as a leap towards a resilient, life-affirming future, the Chief Minister also emphasized the social responsibility of blood donation. In a detailed Facebook post, he highlighted the lifesaving potential of the app, especially during critical medical situations.
The upcoming application will initially integrate all government-run blood banks across the state, allowing people to access blood availability information from any location.
Efforts are also underway to bring private blood banks into the fold, further expanding the scope of the platform.
“This centralized software will help eliminate the distress experienced by families scrambling for blood in emergencies. Information will be readily available at people’s fingertips,” Vijayan said.
Every single blood or plasma donation is a precious life-saving gift.
Regular donation is the key to building a safe & sustainable supply.

The Chief Minister reiterated the state’s goal of achieving 100 percent voluntary blood donation, calling the traceability project a significant step toward that mission.
By linking all blood banks digitally, the state hopes to reduce delays and ensure that required blood units reach patients without bureaucratic or logistical hurdles.
The initiative is expected to enhance transparency, traceability, and efficiency in Kerala’s blood donation ecosystem, setting a model for other Indian states to follow.
