New Delhi: India is set to unveil an ambitious roadmap for its digital future as the ninth edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 begins in New Delhi.
The four-day event, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will feature more than 1,600 technology use cases across 5G, 6G, Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, satellite communication, and the Internet of Things (IoT), cementing India’s position as the epicentre of Asia’s digital transformation.
Addressing the media ahead of the event, Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia described IMC 2025 as a milestone moment for the country’s technology and telecom ecosystem. “This scale of participation reflects the transition from India Mobile Congress to Asia Mobile Congress,” he said, highlighting how the event positions India as a global digital powerhouse.
IMC 2025 will run until October 11, hosting over 400 exhibitors, 7,000 delegates from 150 countries, and an expected 1.5 lakh visitors across a sprawling 4.5 lakh square feet exhibition space.
With participants ranging from global tech giants to emerging startups, the Congress aims to foster collaboration, innovation, and investment across the digital spectrum.

At the centre of this year’s event is the International Bharat 6G Symposium, where experts from around the world will deliberate on next-generation communication frameworks. The Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA), launched by Prime Minister Modi in 2022, will take the lead in these discussions. “The world is now looking beyond 5G towards 6G, and India, through the B6GA, is already an early mover,” said Scindia.
Another major pillar of IMC 2025 is Artificial Intelligence. The International AI Summit will spotlight India’s growing influence in AI-driven solutions across healthcare, agriculture, manufacturing, and governance. The discussions will focus on how generative AI and automation can improve efficiency and sustainability across sectors.
The Cyber Security Summit will underline the importance of building a resilient digital defence for a nation with more than 1.2 billion telecom users. “As critical as it is to provide services, it is equally vital to ensure trust and security for every digital citizen,” the organisers said.

India’s expanding ambitions in satellite technology will be explored at the Satcom Summit, where discussions will cover satellite broadband, IoT applications, and global partnerships. With three satellite communication licences already issued, Scindia said the sector reflects India’s goal of “providing unbiased digital access to every citizen, bridging gaps created by geography and inequality.”
A major highlight of the event is the IMC Aspire Program, which will connect 500 startups with 300 investors, including venture capitalists, private equity firms, and bankers.
Adding to the entrepreneurial momentum, the Global Startup World Cup, India Chapter will take place at IMC 2025, with 15 finalists competing for a $1 million investment prize and the opportunity to represent India at the global finals.
