Harare: India Under-19 lifted the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 after a commanding win over England in the final at the Harare Cricket Stadium. The victory sealed India’s record sixth U-19 World Cup title and capped off a dominant tournament for the Boys in Blue.
After winning the toss, India chose to bat and posted a massive 411 for nine, the highest total ever in an Under-19 World Cup final. Vaibhav Suryavanshi was the standout performer, scoring a stunning 175 runs from just 80 balls. He played with confidence and freedom, attacking the England bowlers from the start. Captain Ayush Mhatre supported him well with a steady half-century, and their partnership set the tone for India’s huge total.

India lost an early wicket but quickly recovered. Suryavanshi continued to score freely even after Mhatre was dismissed, ensuring the pressure stayed on England throughout the innings.
Chasing a daunting target, England were always on the back foot. Calen Falconer fought hard with an aggressive 115 off 67 balls, but he received little support from the other batters. India’s bowlers stayed disciplined and picked up wickets at regular intervals. RS Ambrish led the attack with three wickets, while Deepresh Devendran and Kanish Chouhan claimed two each, as England were bowled out for 311.
Suryavanshi was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his outstanding performances. After the win, he said the team’s hard work over the past several months had paid off and dedicated his awards to the support staff.
