Tamil Nadu Hung Verdict as TVK Misses Majority Mark
In Tamil Nadu, post-election uncertainty continues after actor-politician C. Joseph Vijay, president of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), staked a claim to form the government despite falling short of a clear majority in the 234-member Assembly.
Vijay met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar in Chennai and submitted letters of support from Congress, CPI, and CPI(M). However, the Governor refused to invite him to form the government, citing a lack of a stable majority.
TVK, which emerged as the single largest party with 108 seats, saw shifting alliances through the day.
The IUML first extended support but later withdrew, choosing to remain with the DMK-led alliance, deepening the political uncertainty.
At the same time, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) indicated conditional backing for TVK, while also pushing for a Deputy Chief Minister position for its leadership in any possible arrangement. Meanwhile, Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam (AMMK) extended support to AIADMK and backed its claim to form the government.
My sincere thanks to the Honorable Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha for the call and kind wishes! We shall remain committed to excellence in public service, and preserving the cultural ethos of our state which requires collective cooperation. Beyond politics, we shall… https://t.co/dohAfUSq0e

Kerala Awaits Leadership Decision
In Kerala, the United Democratic Front (UDF) is in the final stages of deciding its Chief Minister after securing 102 seats.
Senior leaders VD Satheesan and Ramesh Chennithala have reached Delhi for talks with the Congress high command.
Satheesan, who led the Opposition in the outgoing Assembly, is among the frontrunners as discussions continue within the party leadership.
State-Wise Political Realignments Continue
In Tamil Nadu, political equations remain fluid as parties recalibrate their positions in a tightly contested post-poll scenario. AMMK leader TTV Dhinakaran has formally backed AIADMK’s claim and urged that Edappadi K. Palaniswami be invited to form the government.
Across states, shifting alliances and fractured mandates have created a complex political landscape, with government formation talks intensifying on multiple fronts.
