Nha Trang: Joheirry Mola of the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026, winning the title at the grand finale of the 73rd Miss World Festival in Vietnam.

Mola emerged victorious after making it through the final six alongside contestants from Malaysia, South Africa, Spain, Vietnam and Eritrea. Thailand’s reigning Miss World, Opal Suchata Chuangsri, was present at the ceremony and crowned her successor.

Spain’s Elisabeth Reynes Alabern was named first runner-up, while Malaysia’s Taanusiya Chetty finished as second runner-up. The finale was held in the coastal city of Nha Trang and marked the Miss World Organisation’s 75th anniversary celebrations.

India’s Nikita Porwal ended her campaign among the Top 40 contestants, bringing the country’s journey at this year’s pageant to a close.

The official Miss India social media account praised Porwal for maintaining India’s eight-edition streak of consecutive placements at Miss World.

“Nikita, you carried India with grace, conviction and heart on one of the world’s biggest stages,” the post said, thanking her for representing the country.

For the finale, Porwal appeared on stage in a sculpted corset featuring intricate floral embroidery and delicate hand embellishments, with floral motifs cascading across the silhouette.

The 73rd Miss World Festival brought together contestants from around the world for a series of competitions and events ahead of the final crowning ceremony in Nha Trang.
