New Delhi: India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, holding talks aimed at further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries while reviewing the evolving regional situation.

During the meeting, Doval conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reaffirming India’s commitment to deepening ties with the UAE.

Officials said the discussions focused on expanding cooperation across key areas and exchanging views on regional developments and issues of shared concern.

Broader Regional Outreach

Doval’s visit to the UAE follows a recent round of high-level engagements in Saudi Arabia, where he met senior leaders including Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman, and National Security Advisor Musaed Al-Aiban. Those discussions similarly focused on bilateral cooperation and regional stability.

The back-to-back visits highlight India’s sustained diplomatic outreach in West Asia at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty.

Focus on Regional Developments

The UAE engagement comes against the backdrop of ongoing diplomatic efforts linked to US-Iran tensions. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Pakistan over the weekend, where he met Army Chief Asim Munir.

While no official details were released, the talks are believed to be connected to efforts by Islamabad to facilitate a second round of discussions between Washington and Tehran.

Araghchi later departed for Moscow, where he is expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, as diplomatic channels remain active amid uncertainty over the next phase of negotiations.

India’s engagement with key regional partners, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, reflects a calibrated approach to maintaining strategic balance and safeguarding its interests in a rapidly shifting geopolitical landscape.
